Masahiko Gemma is Vice President of International Affairs at Waseda University, Tokyo, Japan. He is Professor of Faculty of Social Sciences. He also holds a post as President of U.S. Japan Research Institute (USJI) in Washington, D.C. in the United States.

He received his Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota in 1989. His current research interests include issues on food and environmental problems.

He has been serving as Director of the Institute of Japan-US Studies at Waseda University since 2008. From 2016 to 2018, he also served as Director of the Organization for Regional and Inter-regional Studies.
